Job description
Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for a new and exciting opportunity with a growing company operating across the Construction and Facilities Management sector?
This business delivers roofing, cladding, building fabric and M&E small and minor works projects to a wide range of clients across the region. Due to a strong pipeline of future work and increasing workload, they are now looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to work from their Bristol office.
Purpose of the Role:
To manage the commercial performance of the business unit's framework and capital projects. You will work closely with Contracts Managers, supporting the business with winning work, estimating, procurement, variation pricing, payment notices, client applications, and cost reporting.
You will report directly into the M&E Commercial Manager, providing regular commercial and financial updates.

Reports to: Commercial Manager
Main Duties & Responsibilities
· Lead pricing for roofing, cladding and fabric works, feeding projected margins into the M&E Commercial Manager
· Establish market position to maximise commercial returns
· Lead project procurement using a robust Tender Event Schedule
· Assist in introducing industry-standard application for payment processes
· Maintain financial control of projects tendered by you, including:
· Accurate valuations
· Monitoring progress
· Pricing and agreeing variations
· Maximising cash flow
· Monitor and report final account positions, providing monthly updates
· Ensure accurate forecasting of costs and values to completion, managing risks and opportunities via profit plans
Administer:
· EWNs
· Payment and pay-less notices
· Applications for payment
· 7-day notices
· Support the invoicing process to ensure timely submission
· Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
· Attend client meetings where required to support project delivery and final accounts
· Improve operational efficiency by reviewing and implementing best practice procedures
· Provide recommendations to enhance commercial processes across the business unit
· Support the introduction of Commercial Governance, including:
· Internal settlements
· Supply chain vetting
· Review and update of sub-subcontracts in line with current legislation
This role is initially focused on the Fabric side of the business, with scope to develop into a wider commercial role. A proactive, team-focused approach is essential.
