Job description

Overview

We are currently seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor in Warrington to take ownership of commercial delivery on live building services projects across the North-West.

This is a permanent role for someone who likes keeping costs, change, and programme aligned, while staying close enough to the work to influence outcomes. If you enjoy a tidy process, clear scope, and being trusted to run your own packages, this one will suit you.

About the Company

Our client is a well-established M&E building services contractor with a strong pipeline of work and a practical, delivery-led culture.

The commercial team works closely with pre-con and operations, with sensible processes in place and quick decision-making when issues need resolving. Client name will remain confidential during early stages of the process.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing M&E packages from award through to final account
  • Preparing applications, valuations, variations, and cost reports
  • Supporting procurement and administering subcontracts
  • Tracking change, risk, and early warnings alongside the project team
  • Producing and maintaining clear commercial records under NEC or JCT
  • Supporting tender reviews, handovers, and commercial input into delivery
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and suppliers to keep information moving
  • Contributing to CVRs, forecasts, and monthly reporting

Skills & Experience Required

  • Background in M&E or building services quantity surveying
  • Confident working with NEC or JCT forms and typical subcontract flow-downs
  • Strong grasp of measurement, cost control, and change management
  • Clear communicator who can work closely with site and engineering teams
  • Organised, detail-focused approach with good Excel skills
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Full UK driving licence

Benefits

  • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
  • Full company benefits package
  • Stable workload with varied, technically interesting projects
  • Supportive team and straightforward processes that help you deliver well
  • Genuine room to progress as you take on larger packages and client exposure
