About the Role
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Employment Type: PermanentRobert Hurst are currently recruiting for an experienced HVACR Engineer to join our client's expanding building services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading organisation that delivers high-quality mechanical and air conditioning solutions across residential, commercial, industrial, and MoD sites nationwide.
The role involves commissioning, servicing, installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of air conditioning and refrigeration systems to ensure efficient and compliant performance across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance and Development
- Commission, service, install, repair, and maintain air conditioning systems.
- Review building plans and specifications to determine equipment requirements.
- Assist in the installation of HVAC control panels and leak detection systems.
- Install pipework and containment systems for air conditioning and associated trades.
- Conduct system testing, including leak and performance checks.
- Support junior engineers, ensuring safe working practices and quality workmanship.
- Maintain accurate materials lists and prepare supply orders as needed.Assist the technical department with client and manufacturer service requirements.
Relationships and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, legislation, and environmental standards.
- Support the maintenance of the company's F-Gas register and Refcom Elite Membership.
- Keep up to date with manufacturer training and installer accreditation schemes (Samsung, Mitsubishi, Daikin, etc.).
- Attend manufacturer and industry training courses to enhance technical skills.
- Provide mentoring and technical support to trainees and apprentices.
Additional Responsibilities
- Reports to: Senior Engineers, AC Manager, and Directors
- Responsible for: Junior labour and allocated sites
- Liaises with: Clients, suppliers, engineers, managers, sub-contractors, and colleagues as required
- Support other trade disciplines when required.
- Implement and follow company Health & Safety policies.
- Assist the estimating team with HVAC quotations, tenders, and client enquiries.
- Participate in site surveys and represent the company at meetings.
- Contribute to business development and service improvement initiatives.
- Undertake additional duties within your skill set as directed by management.
RequirementsBenefits
- Proven experience in HVACR installation, service, and maintenance.
- F-Gas qualification - essential.
- Manufacturer training/accreditations (Daikin, Mitsubishi, Samsung, etc.) - desirable.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and fault diagnostics.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel nationwide.
- Salary up to £50,000 DOECompany van and fuel card
