Role: Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Portsmouth (Nationwide travel required)

Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE

Employment Type: Permanent

Robert Hurst are currently seeking an experienced Gas, Plumbing and Heating Mechanical Engineer to join our client's established building services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a professional and growing company that delivers high-quality mechanical and plumbing services across residential, commercial, industrial, and MoD projects throughout the UK.

You'll play a key role in installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of gas, plumbing, and heating systems, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain gas, plumbing, and heating systems and components.
• Work with drawings and specifications to determine layouts and materials.
• Install and maintain valves, pumps, booster sets, pressurisation systems, and pipework.
• Carry out maintenance and testing on gas-fired water heaters, heating fixtures, and associated equipment.
• Oversee and support junior team members, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and ensure compliance with current regulations and codes of practice.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, engineers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  
  

Requirement:

• Gas Safe Registration - essential
• Commercial Gas Ticket - essential
• Proven experience in a similar Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing & Heating role
• Strong understanding of current industry standards and regulations
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel nationwide as required
