Commercial Gas Engineer
Location: Sutton, Surrey (covering London, Greater London and the South of England)
Our client, established in 2003, provides specialist Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) service support to the commercial building maintenance sector. With a strong reputation and a highly skilled mobile team, they deliver professional and reliable service across a wide portfolio of clients.
They are now seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team. This is a mobile role, carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and small installation works across commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out service, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of commercial gas appliances and heating systems.
- Perform testing and inspection of gas and mechanical systems in line with industry standards.
- Ensure plant and systems are maintained and operated for maximum efficiency, availability and reliability.
- Undertake remedial and refurbishment works following breakdowns or maintenance inspections.
- Carry out minor new installations and associated testing.
Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer.
- Strong technical knowledge with excellent fault-finding skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence (no more than 3 penalty points).
Required / Desired Gas Qualifications
The successful candidate should ideally hold the following (or equivalent):
- BMP1 - Boosters, low pressure
- CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety
- CDGA1 - Commission, service, repair & breakdown of commercial direct-fired appliances & equipment
- CIGA1 - Commission, service, repair & breakdown of commercial indirect-fired appliances & equipment
- CODNCO1 - Changeover domestic to commercial natural gas
- CORT1 - Overhead luminous radiant plaque & radiant tube heaters (desirable, not essential)
- CPA1 - Combustion performance analysis
- ICPN1 - Installation of commercial pipework
- TPCP1A - Testing & purging of low-pressure commercial pipework

Additional Information
Some of their client's projects involve Government departments, so successful candidates will be required to pass Home Office Security Vetting (SC clearance).
