Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Working Electrical Supervisor to work on water utility and water treatment projects.
The successful candidate will be an experienced electrician who is able to lead and supervise electrical works while remaining hands-on with the installation and commissioning activities on site.
Candidates must have previous experience working on water treatment works, sewage treatment works, pumping stations or other water utility infrastructure and be comfortable working within an industrial environment.
Essential RequirementsDesirable Experience
- Proven experience as a Working Electrical Supervisor / Electrical Supervisor (SSSTS/SMSTS)
- Strong hands-on electrical installation experience
- Previous experience working on water utility, water treatment or sewage treatment sites - essential
- Good knowledge of electrical installation and maintenance within an industrial environment
- Current BS7671 Wiring Regulations qualification
- Relevant Level 3 electrical qualification / recognised industry competency qualification
- Experience reading and working from electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience supervising electricians and electrical labour on site
- Ability to organise and allocate daily tasks to the electrical team
- Good understanding of RAMS, permits and safe systems of work
- Strong understanding of electrical health and safety requirements
- Able to communicate effectively with site management, subcontractors and the client
- Reliable, professional and capable of working under pressure

Site & Safety Requirements
- Supervising and coordinating electrical works on site
- Leading a team of electricians and electrical labour
- Allocating daily tasks and ensuring works are completed to programme
- Remaining hands-on with electrical installation works
- Installing and terminating electrical cabling
- Installing containment and associated electrical equipment
- Working on LV electrical systems
- Installing and connecting motors, pumps and associated equipment
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
- Carrying out testing, inspection and fault finding where required
- Monitoring the quality of electrical installation works
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Liaising with site management, project management and the client
- Ensuring the electrical team follows RAMS and site procedures
- Supporting the coordination of electrical works with other trades
- Identifying and reporting any issues affecting programme, quality or safety
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
- Assisting with commissioning and handover activities where required
The successful candidate must be comfortable working within a water utility environment and following the specific health and safety requirements associated with treatment works and other operational sites.
Candidates should have experience working with:
- Permit-to-work systems
- RAMS and safe systems of work
- Site inductions and client procedures
- Electrical isolation and safe working practices
- Working around live operational water infrastructure
Additional water-industry qualifications and site-specific training would be advantageous.
