Job description

Sprinkler Maintenance Engineer

Eversafe Fire Protection is a reputable fire safety company based in Sittingbourne, Kent. We specialise in the design, supply, installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems, dry & wet risers, and associated fire protection systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients across the UK.

We deliver high-quality, reliable systems that protect life and property with a focus on responsiveness, technical excellence, and customer service.

This is a field-based role where you'll carry out inspections, servicing, repairs, and testing of sprinkler systems while representing Eversafe's professional standards and delivering first-class customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned inspections, servicing, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems (wet, dry, and deluge) in line with BS EN 12845 and other fire safety standards.
  • Diagnose faults, complete remedial works, replace components, and retest systems to ensure reliability.
  • Produce clear, accurate service reports, compliance checklists, and maintain all required records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients: explain findings, provide advice, and ensure positive working relationships.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to management and assist with preparing quotes for remedial or upgrade works.
  • Maintain your van, tools, equipment, and PPE in a safe and professional condition.
  • Attend occasional training sessions, safety meetings, or office briefings, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Travel between sites within your region, with occasional overnight stays where required.
  • Participate in the emergency call-out rota to support Eversafe's 24/7 service.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience maintaining and servicing sprinkler systems (to BS EN 12845).
  • Strong diagnostics, fault-finding, and mechanical/hydraulic repair skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally work outside normal hours.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and compliance.

Desirable:

  • Experience with dry & wet risers, deluge systems, or wider fire protection systems.
  • Ability to interpret system drawings, valve logic, and network hydraulics.
  • LPS 1048 accreditation or other relevant qualifications.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience completing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Flexibility to support other fire protection tasks as required.

What You'll Receive

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
  • Overtime opportunities.
  • Company van, fuel card, tools, and equipment.
  • 20+ days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Paid Christmas shutdown (25 Dec - 1 Jan).
  • Supportive company culture with technical expertise behind you.
  • Genuine opportunities for career progression, training, and professional development.

Regions Covered

South Role: Southern & South East England, covering Kent, London, Essex, Surrey, Sussex, and nearby counties.
(Occasional support may be required in adjacent regions as part of Eversafe's nationwide service.)
