Inspire Futures is supporting an opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals to join maintenance teams delivering works across Portsmouth City Council contracts. This role would suit someone with previous construction, engineering, facilities, maintenance or military experience who is looking for ongoing work within the Portsmouth area. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced tradespeople, supporting the delivery of essential maintenance activities across local properties and sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting tradespeople with general site and maintenance activities
- Assisting with preparation of work areas and materials
- Moving and organising tools and equipment
- Supporting repairs, refurbishment and maintenance tasks
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
- Following site health and safety procedures
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Completing tasks to a high standard and within required timescales
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working on construction sites, maintenance projects or similar environments is desirable
- Military experience in engineering, logistics, facilities, maintenance or similar roles is welcomed
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to support trades teams and learn on the job
- Ability to work effectively within a site environment
