About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Worker to join their team in Reading. You'll play a key role in fabricating, cutting, bending, and assembling sheet metal components to support their bespoke engineering and acoustic control solutions. Further training and development are offered aiming to have a better understanding of the business and potentially progressing towards becoming a supervisor or Factory Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
- Measure, mark out, cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal components using presses, brakes, shears, rollers, guillotines, and hand tools.
- Work to precise tolerances and uphold high standards of craftsmanship and finish.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with ISO9001 or equivalent quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment, following health and safety protocols.
- Suggest process improvements and collaborate with team members to enhance productivity.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, including experience with a range of machinery (press brake, rollers, guillotines, shears).
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Good time-management skills and reliability.
