Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: London

Reports To: Commercial Manager / Project Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary:
A trusted and reliable client seeking a proactive and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of HVAC projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating costs, managing budgets, minimising project costs, and ensuring best value for money while maintaining quality and compliance with contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities (BOQs) and schedules.
· Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
· Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
· Perform risk and value management and cost control.
· Advise on procurement strategy and prepare tender documentation.
· Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
· Monitor and track variations to the contract, reporting on the financial impact.
· Negotiate contracts and work schedules with clients and subcontractors.
· Conduct regular site visits and liaise with the site team to ensure cost-effective solutions.
· Manage project cash flow, valuations, and interim payments.
· Prepare and present cost reports and final accounts.
· Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
· Proven experience (2+ years) in a quantity surveying or cost management role within the HVAC industry.
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
· Proficiency in industry software such as CostX, Bluebeam, CANDY, or AutoCAD.
· Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
· Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Membership or working towards MRICS, MCIArb, or equivalent professional accreditation.
· Experience with NEC, FIDIC, or JCT contracts.
· Familiarity with BIM workflows and digital take-off tools.
Work Environment:
· Office-based with regular travel to construction sites.
· Fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
