Project Manager
Bedford, Bedfordshire - office based with site visits
Up to £55,000, depending on experience
Permanent | 8:30am - 5:00pm | 25 days' holiday | Bonus | PensionProject Manager Benefits

About the Company
This established Bedford-based manufacturer designs, manufactures and installs specialist security products for the UK construction industry. Its products include ballistic, blast-resistant and healthcare doors, walls, windows and louvres, used across government, healthcare and critical-infrastructure projects.
The business has a stable team, a practical management style and a supportive working environment. Continued growth has created an opportunity for a Project Manager to join the Bedford office and manage specialist manufacturing and installation projects from handover through to completion.
Project Manager Role
This is mainly an office-based role in Bedford, with regular site visits to check progress, attend meetings and deal with any issues. As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for projects once they have been secured, coordinating design, manufacture, delivery and installation through to final handover. You will keep programmes on track, manage costs and maintain clear communication with clients, site teams, suppliers and internal departments.
Project Manager Responsibilities
· Manage specialist manufacturing and installation projects from order through to completion
· Review contracts, drawings, specifications and project requirements
· Prepare and maintain project programmes, budgets and progress records
· Coordinate design, procurement, production, delivery and installation
· Liaise with clients, main contractors, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams
· Attend site visits and progress meetings as required
· Monitor costs, variations, risks and project deadlines
· Resolve technical or site issues quickly and keep all parties updated
· Ensure work is completed safely, to specification and to the required quality
· Manage handover information, snagging and project close-out
What They Are Looking For
· Experience as a Project Manager within construction, manufacturing, subcontracting or a specialist trade
· A good understanding of construction programmes, drawings and specifications
· Experience coordinating manufacture, delivery and site installation
· Confident dealing with clients, contractors, suppliers and site teams
· Commercial awareness, including costs, variations and project risk
· Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
· Good Microsoft Office skills and the ability to maintain accurate project records
· A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
