Procurement Control Officer - Façade Contractor

The Role
As part of the Procurement Team, you will take ownership of procurement activities across multiple façade projects. Working closely with Design, Production, Operations, and Delivery teams, you'll ensure that all materials, subcontracted works, and services are procured on time, within budget, and in line with company policies.
Key Objective
Manage façade procurement projects through the full cycle - supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and compliance - driving cost efficiency, programme certainty, and effective risk management.
The Challenge
Handling multiple high-value procurement packages simultaneously, often under demanding deadlines, while achieving cost savings, maintaining quality, and ensuring full compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of façade systems, materials, and subcontracted works.
- Conduct supplier/site visits to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to procurement policies, governance, and regulations.
- Raise, track, and control purchase orders using the ERP system.
- Prepare/check delivery documentation for coated materials and goods to site.
- Negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors using the "5 Rights" principle (time, place, price, quality, quantity).
- Carry out supplier pre-qualification checks and performance reviews.
- Expedite and coordinate deliveries to meet site programmes.
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and escalate risks or non-conformance.
- Contribute to the wider Supply Chain strategy and departmental goals.
Key Performance Indicators
- Delivery of cost savings against project budgets (currently 5%, with growth targets).
- On-time delivery of materials and subcontracted services.
- 100% compliance with procurement controls, audits, and contracts.
- Supplier performance maintained at or above required standards.
Desired Competencies
Qualifications
- A-Level or equivalent education.
- CIPS or similar qualification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years' procurement experience.
- Proven record in managing high-value project procurement (£10m+).
- 3 years' experience in façade or construction procurement.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and project management principles.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of façade systems, curtain walling, cladding, and related materials.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Solid understanding of cost build-up, financial control, and risk management.
- Ability to produce accurate reports under tight deadlines.
- Good knowledge of construction financial procedures.

- Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE
