Job description
Artisan Recruit are looking for a Painter on a perm basis for a company based in Chichester.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of painting and decorating works to a high standard across commercial, retail, heritage, and domestic properties throughout the UK. Works may include planned maintenance, reactive repairs, refurbishment projects, specialist coating applications, and heritage restoration works.
Key Responsibilities
· Internal and external painting and decorating works
· Surface preparation including sanding, filling, stripping, and making good
· Application of primers, undercoats, and finishing coats
· Wallpaper hanging and decorative finishes where required
· Timber repairs and preparation prior to decoration
· Applying specialist coatings, stains, varnishes, and protective finishes
· Working from specifications, drawings, and client instructions
· Maintaining clean and safe working environments
· Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
· Accurately recording works completed and reporting any defects identified
· Operating company tools, equipment, and vehicles safely
Desired Qualifications & Experience
· NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Painting & Decorating
· City & Guilds Painting & Decorating qualification
· PASMA qualification
· IPAF qualification
· Full UK Driving Licence
· Proven experience in painting and decorating
· Experience working within commercial, retail, heritage, and domestic environments is advantageous
· Good understanding of surface preparation techniques
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Good communication and customer service skills
· Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
· Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home when required
