Job description
We are looking for an experienced Projects Engineer to join a busy mechanical contractor working on projects across the UK, including schools, hospitals and residential projects.
This is a varied role involving both project/site management and hands-on mechanical work.
The Role
- Assist with managing projects from start to finish.
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager and site teams.
- Coordinate subcontractors and monitor progress.
- Manage workmanship, quality and site activities.
- Liaise with clients and contractors.
- Carry out site visits and surveys.
- Assist with project planning and programmes.
- Support commissioning and handover.
- Manage snagging and defects through to completion.
- Ensure RAMS, health & safety and CDM requirements are followed.
- Identify and report variations and additional works.
- Carry out hands-on mechanical installation, repairs and alterations when required.
- Use hand and power tools as part of the role.
- Attend sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays and night work when required.
About You
- Experienced in mechanical installation and/or project engineering.
- Strong practical mechanical knowledge.
- Comfortable working on site and managing subcontractors.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant mechanical qualifications and site tickets are advantageous.
- CSCS, IPAF, PASMA and other relevant tickets would be beneficial.
- Willing to travel and stay away when required.
