Permanent Position / Apprenticeship Programme (18-21 months)About the Opportunity Inspire Futures is looking to recruit a motivated individual from the Armed Forces community to join our growing team and begin a structured career pathway into Project Management within the mechanical and construction sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an ex-service individual looking to transition their military engineering or mechanical experience into a long-term civilian career in project delivery. The role combines hands-on industry experience with a fully funded Associate Project Management Apprenticeship (18-21 months), providing the successful candidate with formal training, practical project experience and a clear route towards becoming a qualified Junior Project Manager. The successful candidate will work within a live project environment while developing their skills across project coordination, planning, documentation, stakeholder management and delivery processes. Key Responsibilities
- Supporting Project Managers in the delivery of mechanical and construction projects
- Assisting with coordination of project activities, planning and scheduling
- Liaising with engineers, site teams, subcontractors and clients
- Supporting project documentation, reporting and administration
- Learning project lifecycle processes from pre-construction through to completion
- Gaining exposure to commercial, operational and technical project functions
- Supporting project planning, risk management and progress reporting
- Ensuring work is delivered safely and in line with project requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Ex-service background (essential)
- Previous mechanical experience (such as pipework, HVAC, mechanical engineering or similar)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine interest in developing a career within Project Management
- Willingness to complete an apprenticeship programme alongside employment
- Organised, motivated and eager to learn
- Ability to work effectively within a project team environment
