Job description
Are you a Plumber or Pipefitter looking to come off the tools and move into an office-based role? This is an excellent opportunity to transition into mechanical estimating with full training and long-term career progression.
We're working with a well-established mechanical contractor who is looking to bring in a Junior Mechanical Estimator to support their growing pre-construction team.
The Role:
- Assisting with mechanical tenders and cost estimates
- Taking off quantities from drawings and specifications
- Supporting senior estimators with pricing and submissions
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for quotes
- Learning mechanical estimating software and processes
Ideal Background:
- Time-served Plumber or Pipefitter (or similar mechanical trade)
- On-site experience within commercial or industrial projects
- Keen to learn estimating and pre-construction
- Good IT skills and willingness to develop office-based skills
- Organised, reliable, and detail-focused
