Job description
Job Title: Fire Stopper Location: Dover, Kent Job Type: Temporary, Full time Salary: £25.00ph Start Date: Immediately Job Purpose:To install fire-stopping systems in accordance with current regulations, manufacturer specifications, and project requirements to maintain fire compartmentation in domestic buildings.
Key Responsibilities:Skills & Experience:
Install fire stopping systems, including intumescent sealants, fire batt, collars, wraps, and other passive fire protection materials.
Identify and seal penetrations in fire-rated walls, floors, and ceilings.
Work according to fire strategy drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with current fire safety regulations and British Standards (e.g. BS 476, BS EN 1366).
Carry out surveys and record completed works accurately, including photographic evidence.
Collaborate with site managers, fire safety inspectors, and other trades to coordinate works.
Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Use tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Personal Attributes:
Proven experience in fire stopping or passive fire protection.
Knowledge of different fire stopping systems and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Understanding of fire safety regulations and compartmentation principles.
Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
Blue CSCS card
NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (desirable).
FIRAS/IFC/third-party certification (preferred).
Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, and Working at Height training (desirable).
Reliable and punctual
