Security Systems Technician (Commercial Projects - GENT Systems Specialist)
Location: Bedford
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, based on experienceAbout the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Security Systems Technician to join our team on a large-scale commercial business park project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning support, and maintenance of integrated security and life safety systems, with a strong focus on GENT fire detection and alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure GENT fire alarm systems in accordance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Install associated security systems including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and integrated security solutions.
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation schedules.
- Carry out first-fix and second-fix installations on commercial premises.
- Test installed systems and assist with commissioning activities.
- Ensure all work complies with BS5839, health and safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Complete installation documentation, test records, and site reports accurately.
- Diagnose and rectify installation issues as required.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience installing commercial fire and security systems.
- Strong working knowledge of GENT fire alarm systems.
- Experience with commercial CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm installations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- ECS/CSCS card holder.
- Desirable Qualifications
- FIA training and certification.
- GENT product training or accreditation.
- IPAF and PASMA certifications.
- Knowledge of integrated building management and life safety systems.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial developments.
