Electrician (Gold Card) - CIS Contract
Location: Reading and surrounding areas
About Us:
Hours: Monday to Friday / 40+ hours per weekWe are a leading Electrical Contractor delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and fit-out services across commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are seeking experienced Gold Card Electricians to join our team on a CIS basis in the Reading area.
The Role:Working on a range of commercial and industrial projects, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, maintenance, and testing works to a high standard. Reporting to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager, you will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with current regulations and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:Requirements:
- Installation of containment systems including tray, basket, trunking, and conduit
- First and second fix electrical installations
- Installation of lighting, power, and distribution systems
- Cable pulling, terminating, and glanding
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications
- Carrying out fault finding and remedial works where required
- Testing and inspection of electrical installations
- Ensuring all work complies with BS 7671 and site requirements
- Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures on site
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Reporting defects, delays, and site issues to management
- Working collaboratively with other trades and site teams
What We Offer:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified Electrician
- Valid ECS Gold Card (essential)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Experience on commercial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Strong understanding of electrical installation practices and regulations
- Own tools and PPE
- IPAF and PASMA desirable but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
- Reliable, professional, and capable of working independently
