Job Title: Electricians Mate
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £17.00ph
Job Type: Temporary Contract
Reports To: Qualified Electrician / Site SupervisorJob Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Electrician Mate to assist qualified electricians with installation and replacment of new LED lighting on a commercial site. The successful candidate will support all aspects of electrical work, ensuring safety and efficiency on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist electricians with the installation of electrical systems and components.
- Pull cables, drill holes, and mount electrical fixtures such as sockets, switches, and lights.
- Carry and manage tools, equipment, and materials.
- Help test electrical systems and identify faults.
- Maintain clean and safe work environments.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules.
- Read and interpret technical drawings under supervision.
- Carry out general labouring duties when required.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Some prior experience in electrical or construction work.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn and take instruction from qualified electricians.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious.
Desirable:
- ECS card is required
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
- Driving license.
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve indoor and outdoor settings, including construction sites.
- Working hours are 10 - 12 hours, Monday - Friday (possible early finish on the Friday)
- PPE must be worn at all times
- Own tools
