Job Title: Electrical Improver - CIS ContractLocation: Reading and surrounding areas
About Us:
Hours: Monday to Friday / 40+ hours per weekWe are a leading Electrical Contractor delivering installation, maintenance, and fit-out services across commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout the South East. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Improver to join our team on a CIS basis in the Reading area.
The Role:Working alongside qualified Electricians and Site Supervisors, you will assist with electrical installations on a range of commercial and industrial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Electrical Improver looking to gain further experience while working on varied and exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities:Requirements:
- Assisting Electricians with first and second fix electrical installations
- Installing containment systems including tray, basket, trunking, and conduit
- Cable pulling, dressing, and termination assistance
- Installation of lighting, power, and small power systems
- Assisting with testing and commissioning activities
- Reading and working from electrical drawings and plans
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with site requirements
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to a high standard
- Reporting any defects, safety concerns, or site issues to supervisors
- Working effectively as part of a site team to achieve project deadlines
- Adhering to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
What We Offer:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Electrical Improver
- ECS Electrical Labourer/Improver Card (essential)
- Level 2 or Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
- Experience working on commercial construction sites
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
- Good knowledge of electrical installation practices
- Own tools and PPE
- IPAF and PASMA desirable but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently when required
