About the Role:
We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced Approved Electrician to join our expanding team, delivering high-quality electrical installations across both domestic and commercial sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in the installation of EV charge points and AC works associated with Solar PV systems. You will be working on a variety of projects including residential properties, commercial buildings, and light industrial sites throughout the South East. The role requires a strong understanding of current electrical regulations and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Installation, testing, and commissioning of EV charge points (domestic and commercial)
• AC electrical works relating to Solar PV systems (inverter connection, mains distribution, system integration)
• Periodic inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations (EICs, EICRs, Minor Works)
• Fault finding, diagnostics, and maintenance of existing installations • Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards and complies with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
• Liaising with customers, project managers, and team members to ensure timely project delivery
• Accurate completion of job reports and certification using electronic systems
Requirements:
• Fully qualified electrician - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing)
• 18th Edition (BS7671) Wiring Regulations
• Valid ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician level)
• Proven experience in both domestic and commercial electrical installations
• EV charging installation experience (e.g., Alfen, Autel, Alpitronic, etc.)
• Good understanding of AC side works for Solar PV installations
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
• City & Guilds 2919-01 (EV Charging Equipment Installation)
• Experience with battery storage systems
• Solar PV accreditation (e.g., MCS-related knowledge)
• Experience with smart energy systems and load balancing technologies
