Job Title: Design Coordinator - Construction & Fit-Out
Location: Wigan

Role Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to oversee the design process from development through to project completion. The role is key to ensuring all design elements are aligned with technical and compliance requirements, managing changes efficiently through Procore, and maintaining strong communication across all disciplines involved in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

· Chair and lead regular Design Team Meetings, ensuring alignment and consistent tracking of design progress.

· Drive the design development process across RIBA Plan of Work stages to meet key project milestones.

· Coordinate the design flow in line with the construction programme, working closely with the Project Director and Project Manager.

· Manage and document all design changes using Procore, ensuring clear and timely communication with all project stakeholders.

· Ensure full coordination across architectural, structural, MEP, and other design disciplines, meeting all technical and compliance standards.

· Serve as the main contact for all design-related queries, providing quick and effective resolutions.

· Develop and maintain detailed design coordination trackers and schedules to monitor deliverables and responsibilities.

· Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Managers, and wider teams to embed design requirements into the construction plan.

· Review all design submissions for compliance with regulations, standards, and internal quality requirements.

· Manage the approval process for design documents and drawings, including statutory authority submissions where applicable.

· Work closely with the Amspec Manufacturing Team (Production Manager and SolidWorks Designers) to ensure alignment with design timelines and output.

· Implement quality control measures to uphold design accuracy and consistency.

· Provide regular reports to the Project Manager and senior leadership on design status, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

· A degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

· Previous experience in a design coordination role within the construction or fit-out industry.

· Familiarity with the RIBA Plan of Work and experience using digital design management platforms.

· Strong leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.

· Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple design streams simultaneously.

· Solid understanding of compliance and technical requirements in construction projects.

· Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software is beneficial.

This is a full-time position to commence as soon as possible. Excellent competitive salary on offer, negotiable dependent upon experience. Hours of work 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Office based role, although you will be required to visit sites within the Northwest (Flexible working is available, but must suit the needs of the business).
