Job Title: Principal / Associate Civil Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Working Pattern: 4 days office / 1 day WFH
A growing civil, structural and geotechnical engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal / Associate Civil Engineer to join their expanding Manchester team. This newly created role offers genuine progression towards Director level and the chance to shape the future of the Manchester office.

The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone ready to take ownership of multi‑disciplinary projects, lead client relationships, and play a key part in the growth of the business. You'll work across a diverse range of sectors and disciplines, with strong support from senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing delivery of civil engineering projects
- Taking technical ownership of drawings, calculations, reports and design documents
- Coordinating and reviewing work produced by engineers and technicians
- Using design/analysis software including Civil 3D and CAD
- Analysing technical problems and developing practical engineering solutions
- Understanding design guides, standards and CDM (2015) responsibilities
- Managing project risk (technical, commercial and H&S)
- Attending site visits to assess constraints and construction progress
- Presenting technical solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Internal project management including resource planning and financial control
- Developing fee proposals and project cost estimates
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Supporting junior team members with technical and professional development
- Contributing to business development and team growth
Required Qualifications
- Recent consultancy experience (North West preferred)
- Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered or close to chartered with ICE or IStructE
