Job description
Job Role Summary:
As an Approved Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of electrical installations and containment work including trunking, conduit, metal tray and basket systems. You must be able to read and work from technical drawings, ensure compliance with current regulations, and deliver a high standard of workmanship.
Installation of Containment Systems:
- Install steel/aluminium trunking, metal cable tray, cable basket, unistrut systems, and conduit to high standards.
- Ensure accurate routing and secure fixing to structural elements.
Electrical Installation Work:
- Install and terminate SWA, T&E, singles in conduit/trunking, and flexible cables.
- Carry out first and second fix electrical installations in commercial or industrial settings.
- Install lighting, small power, distribution boards, and controls as per layout drawings and schematics.
Inspection, Testing, and Commissioning:
- Perform testing and inspection of installed systems to BS 7671 standards.
- Complete test sheets, EICs, and MEIWCs accurately.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all works comply with relevant health & safety regulations and company procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Approved Electrician status (JIB Gold Card or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent in Inspection & Testing (preferred)

- Electrical containment systems (trunking, tray, basket, conduit)
- Commercial/industrial installation
- Cable management and routing
Working Hours:
- Working Hours - 7.30am - 16.30pm
