Job Title: Approved Electrician

Location: Worcestershire
Reporting To: Electrical Supervisor / Site Manager / Contracts Manager
Job Type: Full time, Temporary contract
Salary: £25.00ph

Job Purpose:

To carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and testing work in accordance with current regulations, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with project specifications and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, inspect, test, and certify electrical systems in commercial environments.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

  • Carry out fault finding and repairs efficiently and safely.

  • Ensure compliance with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

  • Complete necessary documentation (e.g., Electrical Installation Certificates, Minor Works Certificates, and Electrical Installation Condition Reports).

  • Supervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices as required.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth coordination on-site.

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.

  • Ensure health and safety compliance on all tasks.

Essential Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

  • City & Guilds 2391, 2394/5, or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification.

  • Current ECS/JIB Approved Electrician card.

  • In-depth knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition).

  • Minimum [X] years of relevant post-qualification experience.

  • Full UK driving licence (if travel is required).

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:
  • Experience with fire alarm, emergency lighting, or BMS systems.

  • IPAF certification.

  • Experience in commercial environments.

  • Familiarity with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

Working Conditions:

  • May involve working at height or in confined spaces.

  • Potential travel to various sites.

  • Some out-of-hours or weekend work may be required depending on project demands.
