Job description
Cornerstone Project Source Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a leading construction contractor for a Temporary Welder/Fabricator role in Luton, Bedfordshire.
Start Date: W/C 09/11/2026
Employment Type: Temporary
Rate: £22 (self-employed)
Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (9.5-hour shift)
Parking: Free street parking available
Duration: Long-term opportunity, depending on workload
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Type of Work: Fabrication and MIG welding of mild steel balustrades and wall-mounted handrails
Overtime: Any overtime is paid at a flat rate. No weekend work required.Duties:
- Fabrication of balustrades
- Fabrication of wall-mounted handrails
- Mild steel fabrication and MIG welding
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in the fabrication of balustrades and wall-mounted handrails, primarily using mild steel
- MIG welding experience
- Relevant welding qualifications/certifications
- Right-to-work documentation
- Proof of experience in similar fabrication works (if possible)
- Any other relevant training certificates
- Must strictly follow the latest Health & Safety regulations
Tools & Equipment: Must be familiar with the following
- Measuring & marking: tape measure, steel ruler, combination square, spirit level
- Cutting: abrasive chop saw, band saw, angle grinder with cutting discs, plasma cutter (where required for complex shapes)
- Drilling & machining: pillar drill/magnetic drill, hand drill, hole saws
- Fabrication & assembly: MIG welder, welding clamps and magnets, bench vice, welding table, G-clamps and sash clamps
- Finishing: angle grinder with grinding discs, flap discs, die grinder
