Job description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Telescopic Forklift Driver to operate on a new build construction site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials around the site, supporting site teams with lifting and distribution tasks, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operating the telescopic handler (telehandler) to move materials and equipment safely and efficiently
· Loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring accurate placement and secure storage
· Distributing materials to various trades and areas of the site as required
· Carrying out daily machine checks and basic maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines
· Ensuring all lifting operations are performed safely and in accordance with site protocols
· Assisting with general labouring duties when not operating the machine
· Supporting site logistics, including waste removal and material returns
· Reporting any equipment defects or safety concerns to the Site Manager promptly
· Maintaining a clean and organised work area
Requirements:
· Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler (A17) licence (with practical experience)
· Full understanding of safe lifting operations and machine capabilities
· Previous experience operating a telehandler on busy construction sites
· Strong awareness of health and safety practices on site
· Physically fit and capable of working in all weather conditions
· Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Desirable:
· Manual Handling Certificate
· First Aid at Work
· Additional plant tickets (e.g., slinger/signaller) advantageous
Working Hours:
· Typically Monday to Friday, 9-5 with potential for weekend overtime
