Why did we Create OnBoard Jobs?
Coming from a mixed background of both Construction and recruitment, we know the struggles that the industry faces when both looking for work and hiring within construction.
The standard job boards that everyone typically uses are just too busy, and trying to be specific with your search doesn’t work.
Despite the rise in digital platforms and so-called 'easy apply' options, the reality for many job seekers and contractors is that recruitment platforms remain costly, generic, and frustrating to navigate.
We noticed there wasn’t a particular Construction-specific job board-or at least not one that was being continually updated with new technology or insights.
One of the biggest drivers behind launching OnBoard Jobs was affordability. Over the years, we watched and personally felt job seekers and contractors alike squeezed by rising platform fees and premium listings. However, in construction where margins are often wafer-thin, those costs really bite.
We believe job boards shouldn’t be another overhead. Instead, they should support the industry by helping people find work without charging an arm and a leg.
That’s why we’ve kept our pricing low, and our value high. We offer free access for job seekers, and cost-effective advertising options for employers. We’re also investing in tools that make it easier for candidates to search, filter, and apply for jobs relevant to their skill set and location-cutting out the noise and saving time for everyone.
More than just a job board, OnBoard Jobs is our way of giving back to the industry that shaped us. We want to see more people entering construction, progressing their careers, and finding the opportunities they deserve-without being held back by unnecessary barriers or costs.
We are already partnering with training companies and are in discussions for partnerships with technology colleges and local councils.
We’re committed to supporting UK construction through a platform that reflects its values: hard work, honesty, and getting the job done.
As we continue to grow, we’ll be expanding our reach across the UK, building partnerships with training providers, employers, and trade associations to ensure OnBoard Jobs stays relevant and responsive to industry needs.
